“Sir” has moved to a new home! He is so happy…”to sir with love”.

Sir's Hero

Yesterday, 3/13/10. ole “Sir” ventured into the tractor shed.  Once he was eating the corn that had been provided he seemed to let his guard down.  Immediately, his owner Loki, saw this and ran to close the door so he was contained.  He caught on real quick!

He tried to escape thru the broken door, however, ole Loki was quicker this time.  She had a lot of practice all week trying and scheming how to get him to his new home.  After the successful restrainment, Loki called Mr. Vernon Bishop who had agreed last week to give “sir” a good home with his flock of about 100 ladies.  Mr. Bishop was literally at the corner when Loki called him.

In a matter of minutes, he was here. He helped Bear and Loki get “Sir” into a box so he would calming make the trip to his new home.  Both Loki and Bear were so grateful to Mr. Bishop for his help in getting this sole survivor safe in a new farm-like location.  He is close by and Loki agreed to purchase all her eggs from the Bishop brothers in return for their help.  “Sir” made a sad sound and then quietly went along with the program.  Loki plans to visit him weekly to see how he is adjusting.

“Sir” will become a part of the legends and events that have been a vital part of Sanctuary.  Thanks to all our friends who shared in my adventures.  Spring is coming and today it sure seems very quiet on the land.

Love to all, especially “SIR”.

The garden has been plowed and is ready! YEAH

Spring is the real reason my soul made it thru winter.  Pure truth.

Today we were blessed by having our Man for All Seasons arrive just when we really needed him.He is the man who plows and tills our garden.  He also graciously helped us move three major limbs from the Tingan Tress that fell during the storms.

To me, Manifestations are just like little miracles, except we concentrate more.

My Anam Cara and I worked on the Tingan Tree.  It still is doing its job, bringing us all abundance and much love.

Today I feel very blessed.  This too is good.

May we all journey well.

Love and light always

new best friends….yeah

Bed Time in the TreeAs you have heard, I’m lonesome.  Thanks to KALU I now have a new best friend.  We both are males and have had a great bonding in just a few short day….long nites too.

I’ve moved from the coop to the White Pine outside the Reiki room.  I love being high.  I feel safe and sound.  My owners have been trying to catch me for almost two weeks now.  I’m quick, smart and scared.  This makes me keep on high alert all the time.

I know my owers are looking after my well being.  Remember, I’m a stud rooster.  I need to be of “service” all the time.  Kalu is watching his ass!

I’ll be fine I’m sure.  My new home, should I ever arrive, has a host of ladies just waiting for me.  They say I will be part of a flock of fine ladies (almost 100 of them).  Should I get captured?

HELP me make a wise decision for myself and do what is best for my family.

SIR

Gosh, I’m Older than They Thought! I’m 105….

ALIVE AND WELL AND HAPPY!Well, the saga goes on here at Sanctuary.  After my safe return to the land, my owners were visited by the Howard County Police Department and the Howard County Animal Control as well as a beautiful vet named Carin.

My life is certainly not boring any more.  I’m on constant vigilance so no one takes me away again.  This makes me more alert and plus I now have a new friend.  Last week, two days after my “incident”, a weasel came into the chicken coop in the middle of the night and slaughtered all the birds except for “Sir”.”Sir” is the rooster that keep all the girls happy.  My owners were again very upset by something that was totally unexpected.  The chickens had become a major part of new life on the land.  We got great eggs and lots of them.  Now, sadly they are all gone, except for “Sir”.

My owner, Loki, immediately found a good, loving new home for the sole survivor.  She called and a nice man named Vernon came with a box and a great attitude.  We were all still so sad and shocked by this latest development.  It was quite amusing  to watch all these “adults” running around the 6 acres trying desperately to catch “Sir”.  Needless to say he is still here and free range.  He will not return to the chicken coop, even though it is now all cleaned up.  He told me, “I’m still very sad and traumatized.”  I told him I knew the feeling.

So, now at nite we share the same spot.  We both love the White Pine Tree just outside the Reiki room window.  I’ve lived and enjoyed that spot for many years.  Now, when the sun begins to set ole “Sir” jumps up to the third big branch and nestles in for the night.  His morning starts much too early for all of us.  He starts to crow at about 4:40 AM.  Yikes, we are all adjusting.  But me, I’m kinda happy.  He gets yelled at for crowing and I don’t get the heat for all my barking anymore.  So, for now this is how it is.

When the “all clear and totally in order ” paperwork from the two investigating agencies comes in, we will see what happens next.  Both investigating agency representatives said, “I wish I were your dog!”  They saw my lair and all my assortments of foods and water and just smiled.

Now, thanks to all this updating of my records and such it turns out that on March 1, 2010 I actually turned 15! YIKES, I’m actually 105.

Thanks for all your loving and caring thoughts and comments.

YIKES "I Was Dognapped Yesterday"

YIKES "I Was Dognapped Yesterday"

Can you Believe It? Iwas dognapped!!

Yesterday, while I was sleeping away in dreamland, a strange lady came into my owners yard and checked to see if I was still alive! When I awoke, she decided that I was too thin and I looked neglected so she decided to take me from my owners and the home I know and loved for the past 14 years.  I’m old, true a little senile but I still with it.  I eat, drink, poop and sleep just like every other dog in the world.  I have important jobs too at my old age.  I am the guardian of Loki’s six new hens and Sir the rooster.

I was picked up and taken out of my yard and put into a car and taken to the old vet that said I was old and should be put down over 5 years ago.  My new vet says, yes he is aging but let him live free and follow his instincts.  My owners, Loki and Smiling Bear, have been so good to me all these years.  They honor my station in life and treat me with style and dignity.

After a brief visit at the vet, the dognapper took me to her place of employment and locked me in her office.  Then they called Loki’s friend Cowboy and told him what they did.  They lied to Cowboy and said they found me walking down Rt. 108 and that I was disoriented and cold and hungry.  Not true at all.  Remember, I was sleeping away in my own fenced yard and in my favorite spot under the Cedar tree, in the morning sunshine which definitely warms my soul as well as my bones.

Cowboy called my owners.  They thought I had actually done what Cowboy was told and immediately dressed and came to pick me up.  They thanked the dognapper thinking she had done a good deed when in fact she had stolen me from my home.

Last nite the police came to check out my “environment” at 9:10 PM . Naturally, this  upset  my owners.  Why can’t folks just let an aging , sleeping dog be?

How to Register and How to Comment

February 23rd, 2010

You’ll need to register to be able to comment on posts but it’s really easy.

When you first come to the blog you will see the home page; to the right under the “Meta” section you will see an option to “register.”  Click on that and it will ask you for a user name and an email address.  When you submit that you will quickly receive an email giving you the password for that username.

You then simply return to the home page, click on “log in” under the “Meta” section, use your new username and password, and you’re good to go. (When you first log in, you’ll be at the administrative section — just click on “Sanctuary Blog” at the top to get to the home page.)

Contributing a comment is really very simple.  You’ll notice that on the home page, at the end of each titled post there is a little reference to the number of comments that have been made to that post so far – either no comments, 1 comment, 2 comments, etc.  Just click on that and it will expand to show you the comments that have been made, and will also provide a “Leave a reply” text box.

Just enter your comment in the text box, click on “submit comment” at the bottom, and the deed is done!  Your first one will need to be “moderated,” meaning I’ll have to approve it before it appears — after that, you’re on your own!
